What's your LOVE list?

One of the keys to bumping up the YUM factor in our life is to do more of the things we love. Sounds really simple, but we often do not take the time to figure out the things we love, much less take the time to actually do them. The things we love are personal and unique to all of us. They make our heart sing and ignite our spirit. The things we love fuel us, give us good energy and make us feel good.

Here's my LOVE list:

LOVE LIFE. LOVE LAUGHING. LOVE WRITING. LOVE GIVING. LOVE YOGA. LOVE THE SKY. LOVE PEACE. LOVE DANCING. LOVE CHOCOLATE. LOVE THE PLANET. LOVE PURPLE. LOVE THE OCEAN. LOVE MY TWO BOYS. LOVE TRAVELING. LOVE DREAMING. LOVE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. LOVE LOVE. LOVE READING. LOVE CHAI TEA. LOVE INSPIRING PEOPLE. LOVE BLOGGING. LOVE MEETING PEOPLE. LOVE KARL. LOVE THE UNIVERSE. LOVE BEING HAPPY. LOVE FEELING FREE. LOVE BEING ME!

Often, we find ourselves filling our days with many things we don’t like, so much so, that we actually forget what we do love. A good way to bring that feel good energy to the surface is to make a list of the things that you love. Yep, that’s right, a love list! It can be ultra simple, no sentences required. Start thinking of the people, places, events and activities that light you up. Soak it in for a few minutes and jot everything down. Look at it every day to remind yourself of what you love. Ask yourself if your life includes any of those things that light you up.

If you think you don’t have time to add any of the things you love then ask yourself this: Do I want to be happy? If your answer is no, then keep doing what you’re doing and leave those things on the back burner. If your answer is yes, then you owe it to yourself to take the time to do more things that you love. You will feel more joy and positive energy will flow in your life.

Above is my love list. I already do a lot of the things on my list but it is a great reminder of things I could do more often. As I look at my list, I would like to add more yoga and dancing in my life. The items on your love list don’t have take up a lot of your time or money. A perfect example is dancing. I don’t need to take classes. I just pump up the tunes in my house and dance. Yep, party for one. Sometimes, when my kids join me, it’s a party for three. We always have such a great time. I included things like chocolate on my love list because I really do love it. I experience this life enhancing food on a daily basis and I would like to think that it does feed my spirit. However, moderation is required in some of the things we love.

My children, Tyler (11) and Ryan (7), also made their love-list (see below). It was fun to sit down with them and talk about the things they love – could be a great topic for a dinner conversation as well.

Giving priority, energy and focus to the things you love is a great way to bump up the yum factor in your life. Try it and see what happens!

Much love, Josée
